A New Way To Buy A Car: Carvana – The Car Vending Machine Experience
Buying a new car is never easy – take it from someone who just bought two brand-new cars from a dealership. It’s a hassle. First there’s the vultures that sneak up and pretend to be your friend, the test drive that only makes you circle the block and never exceeds 40 mph, then the long waiting of negotiating the numbers and whatever dealer fees they’ve tact on and not to mention the bad coffee, old vending machine snacks and the tiny little closet they stick you in to handle the finance. The plus side is a free bottle of water.
All of that is changing. Since the dawn of the internet, the world has evolved. From buying clothes to buying groceries, we can now buy a car. But that’s really nothing new now is it. We’ve always been able to buy a car online, from eBay to online auction houses. Carvana on the other hand is changing the way we look at buying a car and buying it online. Founded in 2012, Carvana has become the leading source for used car sales in America. Located right here in our own back yard, Tempe, Arizona, they take buying a car online to a very unique level – Car Vending Machine. That’s right. A vending machine like those ones with stale old snacks.
Across the United States, Carvana has been building these tall glass blocks building filled with a colorful array of cars – from sports cars, off-roaders, crossovers, and sedans – you can just about find anything you want.
With their corporate offices based in Tempe, it came to no surprise that a vending machine was in the works. This 9-story glass building can store up to 34 vehicles and operates exactly like, well, a vending machine – only a little more complex. Buying a car through Carvana is as easy as sitting in your home, in a robe on your couch, eating Cheetos and watching the Price is Right. Financing is done through them and takes just minutes to get approved. Once you’ve chosen the car of your dreams you get the option to have it delivered straight to your door at no additional cost or if you chose the vending machine way, Cavana will send a car to your home and escort you, Cheetos, robe and all down to their vending machine where you are then given a token, and watch your car dispense straight to your feet.
This unique concept makes car buying a little more enjoyable than sitting in a crusty old dealership with cracked tile floors and water stained ceiling tiles. There are 11 additional vending machine locations: Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Nashville, Raleigh, Charlotte, Jacksonville, Tampa, Orlando, and Washington, D.C. Each Carvana vehicle is Carvana Certified, meaning that they are placed through a rigorous 150-point inspection, and carries clean Carfax with no accident history. All cars placed on their website carries a detailed inspection that showcases its features and any imperfections such as scratches or dents. Each Carvana vehicle also comes with a 7-day return policy.
Who knew buying a car could be as entertaining as the inflatable wavy dealership balloon… oh wait, that’s there mascot.
…. and the taco truck at the “influencer” event was one of the best I’ve ever had! Enjoyed the tour of this place, even though I forgot to ask where they insert the token.
Mmmmm, that is making me want their quesadilla.
