A NEW HUMMER IS SOON AMONG US AND WILL HAVE 1000-HP
A name we thought we’d never hear again has taken internet by storm as General Motors teases us with a new Hummer EV scheduled to be officially revealed in May of this year and built at their General Motors Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant in Michigan. Taking a 30-second air-time ad slot during the second quarter of the Super Bowl game, GM’s new electric truck will express some pretty powerful numbers: 1,000-horsepower, 11,500lb-ft of torque, and 0 to 60 in 3-seconds.
With this being General Motors first ever fully electric pick-up truck that will provide incredible on and off-road performance, their biggest challenge will be facing their adversaries Rivian R1T and Tesla Cybertruck.
Proclaimed to be part of the GMC brand, the teaser photo asserts a bold frontward design with unique LED lighting and H-U-M-M-E-R stretched across its front ‘grille’ leaving very little evidence it’s an EV with a small ‘EV’ symbol in the lower right hand corner. If history repeats itself, in our assumption, the Hummer EV could possibility be a full-size pick-up and be based off the Silverado/Sierra platform.
The ad will air this Sunday, February 2nd, 2020.
