Refreshed, Inside and Out For 2017

For 2017, the Dodge Durango R/T will touch on all the high point for lovers of SUV’s. The high-performance R/T features a 5.7-liter HEMI V-8 delivering 360-horsepower through an-all new 8-speed automatic transmission. The popular Blacktop Package makes a comeback for the Durango R/T offering up distinctive 20-inch gloss black wheels, a gloss black grille, dual exhaust and blacked-out bezel headlamps with signature LED daytime running lights.

There is room for the whole family with seating up to 7 passengers through the available third row. The 2017 Durango R/T gets upgraded with a new hand-wrapped soft-touch instrument panel with red accent stitching and a premium quality interior. Stay connected through the 8.4-inch touchscreen Uconnect system with on-demand Wi-Fi Hotspot and real-time traffic updates.

Safety is top priority when it comes to your family and the Durango R/T has over 60 standard safety and security features to ensure you and your family a safe arrival. With the available Technology Package, the Durango R/T features Blind Spot Monitoring, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Forward Collison Warning & Active Braking, and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert.

While the rest of the competition have moved in the direction of front-wheel drive, the Durango R/T stay’s true to not only the SUV form, but as a driver’s car with a rear-wheel drive platform. The Durango R/T is available in All-Wheel Drive and has a class-leading towing capacity of 7,400lbs. EPA rates the Durango R/T at 14 mpg city and 22 mpg highway with best in class driving range of more than 500 miles.

Looking Ahead To 2018

The Dodge Durango will continue to evolve in 2018 with the all new SRT8. As specifics have yet to be released, the 2018 SRT8 is expected to receive the 392 cubic-inch 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 that’s also featured in the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT. That’s 485-horsepower and 475lb-ft of torque matted to an 8-speed automatic transmission producing an unruly amount of adrenaline. The sport Brembo brakes with have enough stopping power to at least put your spine back in alignment.

Since details have yet to emerge, you can expect the Durango SRT8 to incorporate new design changes to the front fascia including a more dynamic body, aggressive hood, sportier wheels, and a distinctive air intake system.

While official announcement has yet been determined, we suspect the SRT8 is undergoing rigorous testing and screening. Until that time comes, the refreshed 2017 Dodge Durango R/T promises to be another great high-performance SUV offering from Dodge!
