There’s something inherently powerful about a truck with a V8 engine — a primal surge of masculinity that inspires the drive to tackle any challenge. The latest 2024 Ford F-150 captures the spirit of blending raw strength with innovative technology that not only embraces the rugged appeal but also makes it easier and smarter to confront life’s toughest obstacles.
READY FOR ANYTHING
2024 brings an exciting refreshment to the entire F-150 lineup, featuring enhanced technology, a bold new design with updated headlights, grille, and taillights. Notably, Ford has elevated the Tremor off-road package to a standalone trim level, reflecting its commitment to off-road performance. With a starting price of $64,350, this trim option positions itself strategically within the mid-range of the F-150 lineup, right above the XLT with an FX4 Off-Road Package, but right below the bro-dozer Raptor, offering a compelling blend of capability and innovation.

Like the Raptor, the Tremor boasts a distinctive combination of rugged features, including 33-inch off-road tires and robust steel front and rear bumpers, complemented by an oversized front skid plate and striking orange accents that match its amber daytime running lights. Under the hood, the Tremor is powered by a standard 5.0-liter V8, delivering an impressive 400 horsepower and 410 lb-ft of torque through a smooth 10-speed automatic transmission.
At no added cost, the Tremor can be equipped with the more fuel-efficient and torque-rich 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6, which offers an additional 100 lb-ft of torque. However, there’s something enchanting about the 5.0-liter V8 that creates a symphony of sound, igniting excitement even with its average of just 16 miles per gallon.
OFF-ROADING JUST GOT SMARTER
For off-roading in the Tremor, Ford has introduced innovative technology to help provide assistance for those less experienced. When you activate the Off-Road mode, you gain access to the new Trail Control system, essentially an off-road cruise control that maintains a steadily low, single-digit speed while the onboard computers handle any terrain in both uphill or downhill manners. Additionally, the Trail 1-Pedal Drive mode functions similarly to an electric vehicle’s one-pedal driving; as you lift off the throttle, the truck engages the brakes, reducing the effort needed to navigate rugged slippery slopes.

Trail Turn Assist is another impressive feature in the Tremor’s off-road arsenal. This technology brakes the rear inside wheel, effectively reducing the turning radius, which is invaluable on narrow trails. It essentially transforms the Tremor into an off-road donut maker, allowing for tighter turns. We can expect to see plenty of YouTube videos showcasing adventurous drivers attempting to use it for purposes beyond its design, likely leading to some entertaining—and perhaps chaotic—results. This innovative tech not only enhances maneuverability but also adds an element of fun to off-roading adventures.
AUTONOMOUS SKILLS
Inside the Tremor, much of the familiar F-150 design remains, enhanced with noteworthy upgrades like a standard 12-inch digital gauge cluster and a center touchscreen infotainment system. The updated BlueCruise now features version 1.2 software, bringing it closer to the pinnacle of autonomous driving. The system engages seamlessly, providing ample warning when it’s time for the driver to resume control. It maintains lane position effectively and can make subtle adjustments to accommodate passing other vehicles. BlueCruise also excels in stop-and-go traffic. During rush hour traffic we found the F-150 adeptly maintained pace in the congestion. Although the throttle and brake responses can be slightly aggressive below 10 mph, the system significantly alleviates the monotony of such situations by handling much of the driving effort.

Unfortunately, BlueCruise is not offered across all F-150 models; it is exclusively available on higher trims, including the Tremor, Lariat, King Ranch, and Platinum. To compound this limitation, BlueCruise operates as a subscription service. While users can enjoy complimentary access for the first 90 days upon purchase, continued use necessitates a subscription thereafter. This subscription can be purchased for three years at a total cost of $2,100 or on a monthly basis for $75.
The 2024 Ford F-150 Tremor is like the cool cousin of the Raptor — powerful, fun, and always ready for an adventure without stealing the spotlight. With its commanding V8 engine, it delivers heart-pounding performance that’ll make you feel like a teenager on a first date. So whether you’re climbing a mountain or just trying to find a parking spot; it waltzes through any terrain with the grace of a lumberjack in a tuxedo blending muscle with a dash of sophistication — and maybe a little bit of mischief along the way!
